Washington, D.C. in No Particular Order

Recognize the dressed up couple on the right behind us? Yep. That is a VERY small fraction of one of reality TV's most famous large family - The Duggars. While I was upstairs in the hotel getting the little boys ready for bed, the girls (and their friend) crossed paths with Josh and Anna Duggar in the hotel lobby downstairs. They rushed upstairs to tell me and I headed downstairs. While I know I couldn't have won first place for being the most idiotic paparazzi they've had to deal with (I only stalked them at the restaurant for 10 minutes until they came out), I certainly made a close second when I opened my mouth. Long story short, they were kind enough to let us take a photo with them. They are a lot taller in person and better looking, too. They totally radiated as a couple. I had a strange moment where I froze in place and just stared at them both in disbelief....and said some more stupid things. Josh asked a few questions and said I had a small family;-) Yep. I only have nine. I'm missing the first digit in the 19 Kids and Counting.

Andrew is taking this photo of two of my teens and the two friends that traveled with us. It looks like they were having fun the next day after the March for Life doing some siteseeing in D.C. Nathaniel thinks he's the god of something. I'd say ego. A funny photo nonetheless. Makes me laugh every time I look at it.

Elizabeth doesn't know I'm posting this photo of her. Heh heh heh! I believe this is step four of her six step hair regime. She was so kind to share the hotel bathroom with us despite infringing on her vanity hour.

The little boys were wiped out by lunch time. Johnny was so exhausted that he fell asleep on a bench in a loud crowded Smithsonian museum while we were people watching and waiting for Daddy to pull the van up front.

Clay Matthews posing as Superman rescuing a down-spiraling American Airlines plane;-)

Maggy. She's not too far from the Wright Brothers' original airplane.

I see a bellybutton!

I managed to find one photo of my kids at the March for Life on Relevant Radio's facebook page. Francesca is wearing the white bandana in the right hand corner with Andrew to her left and Nathan in front of her. I hate missing "firsts" with my kids. This was Francesca's first year at the March for Life and I didn't get to be with her. That bothered me. Very much. I like to share these things with my children so we can talk about it together and say, "Remember when..." "Did you see..." We are already making plans for next year. Hopefully, I can be with her. I also hope the numbers attending in 2014 will increase again by the hundreds of thousands.

  1. Wonderful photos! It was so nice to see you. I'm only sorry we had to rush. My cold morphed into a bacterial virus; so I've been at home this entire week -- ugh!

  2. What a great experience for the whole family! One year, I'm going to make it out there. It has to be so uplifting to see huge crowds of people who support life and to be in the middle of it all.

  3. PS: I just love that "superman" picture of Gabe holding up the airplane! Ha! Ha!
