Maggie Then and Now Eight

Every year on our children's birthday, I reminisce about the sweetness of their first days of life. The kids are always fascinated about their debut into the world and ask lots of questions. Maggie smiled several times during that first 24 hours of life on the outside and I immediately fell in love with our third daughter. I treasure the time spent alone with the bambinos those first few hours in the new world. You look over every little chubby fold in their fingers, arms, legs and toes. You smooch them to pieces all over their newborn face as they respond with newborn noises that only a parent knows. Bonding time is priceless.

The year flew by. Sometimes it seems that the younger ones grow up quicker than those at the head of the caboose because they can't wait to be engines like their siblings. Magdalena is no exception. She loves to be with her big brothers and (especially) sisters and would like to do what they do. She is a very smart and determined girl whom loves her school work and life. (She did two days worth of school work yesterday so she could have the day off today.)
