Augustine: The only thing we can bring to heaven is flowers, right, Mom?
Mommy: Yes, that's right!
Augustine: She [Our Blessed Mother] makes all the flowers [referring to sacrifices] into one BIG flower [and gives them to God].
The book Leading the Little Ones to Mary has always brought out a tenderness in our children. Every one of them have loved this book. I wish I had written down some of the conversations that transpired from all of our children when we read it together.
This book is a part of our Kindergarten curriculum. It is based on St. Louis de Montfort's Total Consecration to Mary and is written in a delicate language for children of age five to understand. It's purpose is to instill in the little ones a genuine devotion to Mary. Each time we read a "talk" we say the little prayer afterward which they simply adore: Holy Mary, I want to belong to you. I give you my whole self and all the good things I do, at home, in school, in church and when I play. My Mother, I am all yours, and all I do belongs to you. Amen.
