Seraphia's Baptism

Francesca and Maggy worked on these beauties. (Pinterest can be a dangerous place to surf - it's a fake world so I seldom visit that app.) The girls did an amazing job and I like how they personalized the cookies with the baby's first and middle name.

These cookies taste especially delish when they sit in a hot van for a few hours. It was like they came straight from the oven. They don't look as pretty melted, but they tasted great!

I just love this family and so do my kids. They exude sweetness!

These are Seraphia's godparents, Bridgett and Bill. They are an adorable couple that love their faith. She is expecting in October. She recently received a blessing for her baby in utero by Cardinal Burke at the Guadalupe Shrine in LaCrosse.

In the extraordinary form, the Godmother holds the baby.

Seraphia cried the entire time. She was super hungry. One of the only times she was quiet was when the priest placed a pinch of salt in her mouth. She liked it!

Welcome to the Catholic Church, Seraphia Maria!

Gabriel had not served in well over a year since we moved from Green Bay. It was nice to see him in a cassock again.

Another beautiful old custom that not many people have heard of, nor did I until we began attending the traditional Latin Mass: The Churching of Women.

This was Canon Sequeira's first Baptism. He was very recently ordained to the priesthood.

It was a grace filled day that concluded with the Mass of the Assumption, an outdoor procession and benediction. We (all the faithful) also received the blessing of a newly ordained priest from Canon Sequeira.

We headed to get pizza with this cute bunch of kiddos and then drove back to Minnesota.

  1. What a beautiful baptism! The treats look amazing. Thanks for sharing all these things with us. It's almost like we were there. I've heard of being churched but I never knew anyone still did it! So great!
