I felt bad for him going in with all smiles at 5:50 a.m. yesterday morning. He didn't know the pain he'd soon have to endure.
Daddy assisting with his scrubs.
Johnny had been asking for months "how much longer" until his tonsils would be removed. They were so large they were interfering with his eating and sleeping. Poor kid. He was a trooper waiting SO long.
It is has been a benefit having two Children's Hospital's within 20-37 minutes of our new location. We have the luxury of many choices for doctors. So far we've been very blessed with a fantastic pediatrician and hopefully the ob/gyn will prove to be as well.

Right after we had been discharged and were about to leave Johnny vomited up two popsicles. I hadn't experienced this with Francesca or Gabriel, but I guess it is common the first 24 hours after surgery. Johnny is really sensitive (and stubborn) and started getting panicky and dry-heaving. I had to be stern with him and get him to relax. The Knight lifted him back into the hospital bed and we let him settle down before we journeyed home.
Last night was rough. He didn't want to take his medicine nor drink as much as needed. I had to play the role of tough mom. "If you don't take your medicine and drink you will have to go back to the hospital and have needles poked in you and you'll have to stay for days. I also won't buy you the new books to read that we talked about or the bubble gum. You must drink and take your medicine." It helped the first time, but not the second or third. I had John try, Gabriel try, Magdalena try, and Francesca try. Nothing worked. It was a looooooong night for Johnny and mommy. Thanks be to God, today was a total turn around. He has been much more cooperative and settled. I can't wait until this week is over!

Oh, no! Poor little guy! And poor Mommy! I hope everything gets better really soon.
