Here is Gabe at his track meet last Thursday. He came in last. Another teammate asked to trade places with him and so Gabe was competing with faster runners. Why he did this is beyond me. Where was his coach? Why did he allow it? He should have remained in his category. You would think he would be disqualified. I think 14 year old boys are the most difficult age to deal with. They know everything, right?
And.....here we have a severed finger. Brilliant, aye? I told him to go to bed last night. He didn't. He decided to do his
oil pulling and sat at his desk cutting up index cards with a utility razor killing the time until he accidentally took a chunk out of his index finger and fingernail. Maggy came in and got us out of bed. Fingers really bleed. A lot. He placed the tip of his finger and fingernail on the sink counter. It was disgusting. I did NOT take a photo of THAT. We did manage to stop the bleeding after about 30 minutes. That was longer than I was comfortable with. I couldn't sleep last night and kept checking on him every hour to make sure he wasn't bleeding to death. John is taking him in to Children's Hospital today. Boys.
It may sound harsh, but I did not feel sorry for him. At all. He said he learned his lesson. I hope so. Obedience is the key to salvation.
