Living Stations of the Cross

The Living Stations of the Cross were much more than I expected. I was utterly impressed with the maturity of these children. I was so moved that it had me in tears during the Twelfth Station when Jesus dies on the cross. These kids were amazing!

Magdalena was in the choir. She was originally chosen by Sister to play the role of Mary Magdalene, but she asked to sing in the choir. I was somewhat annoyed by this, but I guess if she was more comfortable singing, then she used her talent in another area. The characters are only cast through the sixth grade, so I'll admit I was disappointed she didn't stick with her assigned role, especially since it was her patron saint and this is the last year she can audition. Sometimes I think I'm too easy on her and should have made her keep her part. But I also didn't want to see a miserable Mary Magdalene.

Sixth Station ~ Veronica (Seraphia) Wipes the Face of Jesus

The part of Mary Magdalene was played by Maggy's friend Eleanor (far right). She did a wonderful job!

Seventh Station ~ Jesus Falls the Second Time

By this point I was going insane with only ONE toddler. This play took place during his scheduled nap time and he was having a tantrum on and off since it began. It only got worse at this point. I didn't want to miss Johnny's entrance, but I did. I was so mad. The only time I could see Johnny's face I was preoccupied tending to Jojo. I couldn't ignore his usual antics as he was being disruptive.

Eleventh Station ~ Jesus is Nailed to the Cross

Johnny is the Young Soldier to the far right. That's about all I got to see of him thanks to Joachim.

Twelfth Station ~ Jesus Dies on the Cross

Fourteenth Station ~ Jesus is Laid in the Tomb

Sister Mary Kathleen did an amazing job. This was her 10th year directing this production. It's sad that she and the other sisters are going back to Connecticut.

Have a blessed Triduum!
