Octave of the Epiphany - Out With the Tree

Every year or so we add a new figurine to the manger scene. She is not new this year, but she's one of my favorites because I can relate to her. Can you guess why?

We usually take the Christmas tree down around February 2nd according to the traditional feast of the Purification. We took it down today for multiple reasons: needles falling everywhere - which I don't mind except that Joachim would try to eat them now and then, Joachim taking the liberty to plug in and unplug the lights several times eeeeeevery single dayyyyyyy, and his constant hiding/destruction of ornaments - I only had to throw out 2 this year! I took a photo of the ornaments that Johnny (snowman hand print) and Augustine (traced hand outlined in glitter) made just in case they don't make it one Christmas in the future. I regret that I have no photo of the one Nathan made me when he was in grade school that was broken years ago. I love the handmade ornaments over store bought any day. They are so dear to my heart.

  1. We just put ours away too. It made me sad. It went by so fast. I think I need to get that Fontanini figure. I can relate too. Hope you are feeling well these days!
