Christmas Wheat

The Knight planted our Christmas Wheat four days late this year, but it didn't seem to make a huge difference. (It's the little things we take for granted - such as not having a garden to run to in midwinter to gather soil to plant the wheat - we had to find potting soil at a store.) John has such a green thumb. He can make anything grow!

I'll stick to the crafty things. I bagged 50 kits of St. Lucy Wheat (with Maggy's help) for Johnny's class and the other first grade class. Sister asked if anyone had a tradition they would like to share and this is one of my favorites! Unfortunately, I did not get to present the short presentation that morning of the 18th due to Joachim waking with a fever. Johnny was devastated that I could not be there that morning because all the students were giving presentations related to traditions around the world. Poor kid.
