Isn't that face scary? He looks like he's wearing invisible horns! Quite funny actually.
Joachim has so much to say and is determined to be heard. He repeats his sentences over and over even after he is acknowledged. He also adds an extra letter to the first word of most sentences. Or... it could be that he is phonetically pronouncing the first sound of every word. It is rather odd: buh-ball, duh-drink, wuh-water, etc. Most people cannot understand him. He talks like a Minion. Truly. He states his likes and dislikes when it comes to food. If he tries something for the first time and is not fond of it he'll say, "Not like it."
My heart was just breaking for him last week. He was sitting in the living room looking at books and out of the blue he said over and over, "Home? Home? Home?" Something made him think of our home in Green Bay. Later that day it was confirmed that he missed our previous residence. We had passed by a department store entrance that looked very similar to our old surroundings and he got super excited and shouted in perfect contentment, "HOME!" Again, it was tear jerking. How could I get this little fellow to understand we are not going back to HOME (the only home he has known.) I tried my best to explain it to him, but I do not know how much an almost two year can understand.
He's been crying SO often during the day since we have moved here. He also wakes up crying every night and will only be comforted if we put him in bed with us until he falls asleep. If I am still awake by the time he's falls back to sleep, I put him back in his crib.
Happy 2nd Birthday! to our little Curious Jo.

Happy birthday, Joachim! He's adorable. I can only imagine what he sounds like with a minion voice, lol! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Jojo, Johnny, Francesca, and Elizabeth! Everyone is growing up so quickly! Miss you all! Looks like Minnesota is a good fit for everyone although I'm sure it's bittersweet leaving your former home.
