This little puppy started an early heat cycle. So after two weeks of dealing with her leaving a mess throughout the house and stinking up the place and crying at night for the neighborhood male dogs, we decided to get her spayed. I can't wait until the collar comes off. I'm sure she can't wait either.
A few weeks ago we were very close to putting her to sleep. One of Nathaniel's friends had asked to stay with us for 2 weeks (out of necessity) and kindly took Bijou on daily walks for me during his stay. I forgot to tell him not to let her go near people. She either likes them or she doesn't. So guess what. She bit a 4 year old neighbor on the leg that was riding her bike. They already didn't like us for no apparent reason. Great. Just what we need - sue happy neighbors. All turned out to be fine and the mom did not take her daughter in to the hospital. I reassured her that Bijou was up to date on all of her shots, including rabies. John and I have both grown attached to this pup and we are glad that she's still with us. He was surprised that I missed her the two days she was gone to the vet to get spayed. She was so happy to see me the day I picked her up that she climbed all the way to top of my shoulders when I lifted her into my arms. She's my little canine ragamuffin.
Aw, so cute. Sorry about the biting incident. That would be stressful. Glad it turned out ok!
