Days 1, 2 and 3 of Decrapyifying

Bathroom closet numero uno

I never had the initiative to do this before. I'd organize here and there, purge now and then, but never consecutive days in a row. It feels great! I still wish this closet were emptier. I only kept the items that we use regularly. There was a tylenol bottle labeled with an expiration date of 2009. Things that make you go hmmmmmmm.

Oh. I almost forgot about the numbers.

1. medicines and cleaners
2. pool towels and pool bag and sunscreen (like we need much of that in the state of Wisconsin - heh)
3. swiffer refills, hair cutting kit, hand towels, and doggy accident spray
4. toilet paper - in bulk!, diaper care
5. rags and buckets which have all kinds of uses. I must add that I threw away an entire 30 gallon garbage bag FULL of rags. We will never ever use that many. We end up with a TON of rags in this house. I am not going to save them anymore until that stockpile gets depleted. It is no joke when I say that the bottom of the closet floor cubby was covered with them all the way to the underside of the bottom shelf. They fell out almost every time I opened that closet. Ridiculous!

Johnny and Joachim's room. Emptied out!

Johnny is so organized. He placed his little bag of swim clothes and tomorrow's outfit in the corner so it is ready in the morning for swimming lessons. I couldn't bear to move it.

Joachim and Johnny's closet

1. YMCA clothes/accessories for summer sports
2. Jojo's shoes and hats (Yes, I like shoes and hats)
3. Sunday and special clothes (I need therapy in this department. It is so difficult to part with clothes.)
4. blankies
5. onesies and drawers full of undergarments and pj's (threw out all socks with holes...did not keep them for rags;-))
6. Joachim's day clothes
7. keepsakes boxes
8. Sunday and special clothes (Johnny's)
9. Johnny's day clothes
Bottom right corner: pile of Johnny's organized "stuff"

This still looks like too much stuff. I can do better.

  1. It looks awesome! I've been doing this since the start of the school year and still am nowhere near done. I'm so inspired by those closets!

  2. Oh my goodness, your closets look amazing! I hope my boys get Johnny's penchant for tidiness.
