Consolations

Little consolations go a long way with me. I have learned to not ask for many for I am most undeserving. The one I received today was not requested. It was consoling nonetheless.

I heard fighting outside and went to check on the children. The two little neighbor boys were clawing each other in our driveway.  I asked what the problem was and told them they need to learn to get along. My little Johnny proceeded to tell them in the tenderest little voice that they need to be little Marys and Marios and please God. It was precious. I'm certain the neighbors have never read Leading the Little One's to Mary, but somehow in their innocence they understood what Johnny meant. I went back inside with a smile. I hear them outside the window. They are getting along for now and once again enjoying each others' company as I type.

  1. What a nice reflection on little Johnny's character and his upbringing! It brings real joy to parents to see or hear goodness emanating from their children.
