Couldn't Stay Away

There is always so much going on that I may keep up with posts after all. Woman can change their minds. And we do. Frequently.

My mom stopped by on Sunday for a short time. Little Jo doesn't see her often so he was not sure of her at first. If a stranger stooped down into my floor space out of the blue to greet me like a jack-in the-box, I'd be bug-eyed too.

He later warmed up to her and sat contently in her lap all snuggled up.

Jojo is learning to crawl and can stand in his playpen for quite awhile without assistance. His mobility preference is to roll quickly from room to room. It forces me to keep the floor picked up now. It is amazing what they can find. He has a favorite drawer in the living room that he repeatedly pulls open and shut until he closes his fingers inside. Then the fun is over. 

We just bought a used crib from a friend last Saturday. Being kicked in the ovaries every. single. night. gets old quickly. The transition from our bed to a crib is not working out well.  Jojo nurses a lot at night and I fall asleep when I'm nursing and he never makes it back to the crib. At least he has a safe place for naps.

I went to check on him during his alone playtime today and found him with his feet propped up and "reading" a Mother Goose book.

He kept saying "boop" when he turned a page. "Boop" is how he says "poop." I thought he was confusing the word "book" with "poop." Then when I picked him up I smelled the "boop" in his diaper and realized he was letting me know his diaper was full. He is a very smart boy. He is my earliest talker. His vocabulary consists of the following: Mamma and MOM, Dadda, Nay Nay (Nathan), Eh Beh (Elizabeth), An-dew (Andrew), Mmmm (when eating table food) and Boop (poopy diaper). He also tries to sing and it's super cute. I need to remember to record it one of these times.
