Pilgrimage to Holy Hill

The vain side of me would have never posted this photo (sun sensitive eyes). The priest on the right (Canon G) far outweighed the compromised vanity, as we've never taken a photo with him in full garb and I love it! And besides, I love the silliness and awkwardness of the entire photo.

Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

This is the point where I left. Yes, left. I had only eaten yogurt in hast before we left and this mommy's pregnant belly was beginning to feel very hungry and I was getting dizzy. Not smart. I thought maybe I'd sneak into the confession line first on my way out. Well that proved to be an impossibility and I left the line to get something to eat at the little cafeteria. They must have seen me coming and flipped the open sign to closed. It was comical! I was too tired to walk anymore, so I thought I'd go back to the van, eat our packed lunch and rest. I met John on the way, who had taken the youngest two boys to the restroom. I decided rather quickly that it might be best to relieve him of Jean-Marie (3 year old) because Daddy was looking a bit crabby. I thought I would feed the three year old and see if he would nap with me. Well he certainly ate and had no intention of napping after he found his brother's toy helicopter in the van. He finally fell asleep after a bit of coaxing and by that time a couple of the kids (boys, of course!) came back to get their lunch because Mass was over. Meantime, I get a text from John stating he is "Up on top....took spy pics...mooohahaha." Well thank you for waking me up. I had finally fallen asleep. Then I got all nervous because I realized his message meant that he was in the bell tower taking pictures of the van down below (see it with doors open.) He was using my new camera and I had not shown him how it works. Yeah, I'm like that. So I frantically began typing him 20 questions. He ignored me. =) So I stayed in the van (by this time I had an upset stomach) and rested the remainder of the pilgrimage. He continued to take the following photos.

  2. I would have had a heart attack if I had joined them this time. The last time I went up was when we had three little ones (about 13 years ago) and that was scary enough. I'd like to go up again by myself sometime for a photo shoot. It would be fun!
