Birthday Boy

We celebrated Gabe's 11th Birthday today since this year it fell on Good Friday. What a joyful day to celebrate one's birthday ~ Easter!

Gabriel is a very bright boy and it is noticed by others, in particular, his catechism teacher. He loves to share his knowledge and usually begins his sentences with, "Did you know that...?" He loves to read and has a great memory. He also has a very tender heart and is very affectionate.

Birthday bonus - sunglasses

Like any 11 year old, he loves cool boy stuff and asked for a pellet gun for his birthday. I had to say "No!" since we still have a window in the garage that needs to be repaired from last summer. There are bb's nesting in between the window panes. I can't count how many holes we have in doors and walls that bare the mark of the bb gun. I have to draw the line somewhere, because another gun in the house means the possibility of more destruction. So we compromised and he picked out new arrows for his bow. Fair enough.

I am also VERY grateful to the girls. They spent two hours on Saturday making this Almond Torte for Gabe's big day. It was delectable! I love having big kids. It lessens my load and makes things that much more bearable with a large family and the many responsibilities that go along with it. They also enjoy baking, which does not make it feel like a burden to them. Yeah! Win win.
