A Little Bit of This and That

It's a lot of fun with older kids. It keeps a nice balance when there are still little ones in tow. (Not that little ones aren't fun, they're fun in a different sort of way.) We had a busy, busy weekend, but nonetheless, we managed to squeeze almost everything in, however imperfect it may have been.

Nathaniel volunteered at the local food pantry on Saturday morning, while Andrew and a few members from our church helped prepare a BIG meal for 150 people in need. Meanwhile, Elizabeth volunteered at Heritage Hill State Historical Park, stepping to the music of The Heritage Hill Volunteer Music Group. (It a wholesome environment to volunteer at and she has lots of fun and learns something new each time while reliving history in costume.) Francesca had a different sort of volunteer work;-) She stayed back with Daddy to help with the younger ones and helped pick out the Christmas trees. I hear they came home and sipped on hot chocolate with marshmallows, yum, yum! Augustine invited over his favorite buddy Ian from across the street to join them.

In the evening I ventured out with Elizabeth and Andrew to pick up a few last minute gifts. Surprisingly, we found some DRASTIC discounts at the mall. Later, Nathaniel and Francesca went to get the groceries for the family. I want to say that again; it sounds so nice. Breath in, breath out. Ahhh. Nathaniel and Francesca went to get the groceries for the family. I LOVE HAVING BIG KIDS! I think I'll leave it with that happy thought...

  1. This gives me so much hope!!! Thank you! I'm exhausted lately and can't imagine what it will be like when I actually have help. I'm sure it will be wonderful.
