Besides the bathrooms and kitchen, the music room is undoubtedly the most widely used in our house. From this northeast corner, one hears a minimum of 5 hours of plunking per day. In addition to the melodies, dynamics, chords, and staccatos, one can also hear "discord" ~pun intended~ echoed from here as well. Fighting often ensues over whose turn it is or how much time they've expended. One piano amongst seven musicians can resemble a perpetually challenged metronome. Needless to say, somehow it all works out and music streams off the pages and dance throughout our home. St. Cecilia, pray for us!
This is the first piano recital I did not attend with our children. Two hours of playing statue would have been an impossibility for the toddler. So thanks to modern technology I viewed the performance in the comfy confines of our home once they returned with the raw footage. I'm SO proud of them for all the hard work they put into their selections. Their music is such a joy to my heart!
Side note: I think I just might give Neville Public Museum a jingle and let them know that their piano could use a good tuning. It was the worst I've ever heard it. Really unfair to the performers and the instructor.
So if you have a joy for music and a spare 20 minute block of time, kick back with a cup o' Joe or tea. Curtains please...
i watched all the videos
ReplyDeletequite a talented group! - even the young ones with their pieces showed some good sound with their finger strength
