Happy Mother's Day!

One of my favorite movies is The Miracle of Marcelino. In one of the scenes the following dialogue takes place between the little orphaned boy, Marcelino, and Our Lord:

Marcelino: "What are they like? What do they do, Mothers?"
Our Lord: "They give Marcelino, they always give."
Marcelino: "And what do they give?"
Our Lord: "They give themselves. They give their lives and the light of their eyes to their children until they are old and wrinkled."
Marcelino: "Are they very ugly?"
Our Lords concludes: "Not ugly Marcelino, Mothers are never ugly."

Happy Mother's Day to all of you beautiful Mothers!

Tulips from my family (picked out by Nathaniel ~ he's gonna make a great husband some day!)

This morning a rosary procession with the First Communicants of our parish concluded with the crowning of Our Lady, the holiest Mother of all Mothers.

  1. Congratulations Magdalena! If I get Maria's pictures online I'll email them to you too! She made her First Communion last Sunday.

Miracle of Marcelino is one of my favorties too. I cried and cried at the end when Marcelino told Our Lord on the crucifix in the attic that he wanted to be with his mother and Our Lord came off the crucifix and held him in His arms and he went to sleep and God took him to heaven to be with his mother. And the brothers came and saw him asleep in Our Lord's arms!

  3. Sometimes they have them in the bins at Walmart for five dollars. Ignatius press sells it but it's overpriced. I bought mine at our local religious store.
