Godfather Meets Godchild
It was on September 8, the feast day of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary that our eighth child was born, Jean-Marie (French pronunciation). Our Lady answered my prayer and granted the favor of sharing her birthday with our son. He was then baptised on September 12, the feast of The Most Holy Name of Mary; Thus baby Jean-Marie was named after Our Lady, Mary, and his Godfather Canon Jean-Marie M. I am more convinced this baby was favored due to the holiness and GREAT faith of his Godfather than any prayers of mine. I hope he follows in his Godfather's footsteps, being destined for great things. Maybe one day too, our Jean-Marie will continue the work in the jungles of Gabon where Canon M. converted and baptised the Africans for 13 years!
Canon was to leave to his new mission out west a week prior to baby Jean-Marie's birth. Because of his absence during the baptism, a proxy was needed. So this is the first time they met. It was really cute. Jean-Marie just stared at him in awe and then rested his head on his shoulder while hugging him!
