How Not to Begin Your Weekend!

Teens dream of the day they get there license. The beginning of what they deem as freedom is also a day mom and dad's prayers multiply! After only eight days of possessing a driver's permit, Nathaniel now realizes the price that comes along with that freedom! God knocked St. Paul off his horse ~ Nathaniel off a (Dodge) Ram!

Despite how much more gray hair I've sprouted since having teenagers, I can honestly say that along with the headaches come peace of mind in knowing that God is in charge and frequently sends down friendly reminders of this ~ sometimes they weigh a little more, others times less!

This weekend will be spent thanking God that our son was returned home to us, safely, and even with his good humor. I questioned why there was a heap of wet clothes at the bottom of the stairs, to which Nathan replied, "Upon impact, things were thrown from the inside of the van out the back window. It was like a chicken loosing it's feathers!"

  1. Our first child to claim a collision was when Theresa totalled grandma's car her senior year of college while picking up Alexia at Ypsilanti, MI to go on a retreat. The old air bags went off as she rear ended a lady in front of her who hit one in front of her who hit one in front of her at a stoplight in town, in the rain. She was the last in line and got cited. Of course, we were happy no one was seriouly injured and she was able to get a rental and actually keep their retreat weekend. The insurance premium factor ... well, that was another story.
If it's any consolation Nathan, Uncle Jim hit a deer one fall early morning on the way to Sunday Mass. It was still dark out and the little deer took out our headlight. We managed to stuff it back together enough to make it to mass, but of course, a light hanging out of your vehicle is a curiosity magnet and of course there were comments. Atleast I could say I wasn't driving!
